I hope you all enjoyed the Easter Bunny Trailer Movie. I was highly amused by it myself.
It occurred to me today, as the Chick was helping me to load up to YouTube the very first two trailers I made with my new iMovie 11, that I am making...trailers that precede....FULL LENGTH FEATURE FILMS. Is that what these trailers are promising? I thought to myself.
I guess the Rabbits are going to have a Busy Summer of Movie Making. We may have to attempt a larger Feature Film.
Well, in any case, these are simply trailers at this point, so there's no need for me to get ahead of myself. Right?
Right!

Flip Friday

Up to this point, I have been thinking it would be too hard to watch Zoe in action. But really, it turned out to be nice to see Her.

The Year of the What?
As you know, a lot of people choose words for the New Year that embody what they want to aspire to in the year ahead.
I like the idea of choosing a word like this as opposed to making resolutions that I inevitably cannot maintain. (Well, I suppose it is DO NOT, not CANNOT, right? But, whichever it is, I have a hard time following rules even if they are for my own good.)
I tried hard come up with a word that represented something I wanted to work on this year. 2010 was a hard year for us here at the Lilypad. It sounded like it was a hard year for a lot of people, actually!! It was a year of challenges and learning and having to face a lot of fears.
The word I was looking for had to be...well...sort of the opposite of that. It had to represent FUN and EASE and CREATIVITY, things that I've been neglecting in my life over the past many months.
Saturday night, on the eve of the first night of 2011, I chose my word: RABBIT!!
Well, it is so obvious, isn't it, that my word would have to be Rabbit?
Besides THIS obvious reason...
...there is another reason. If you didn't already know, 2011 will be the Year of the Rabbit in the Chinese Zodiac. When I read about the traits attributed to the Rabbit, I thought it sounded like a lot of great things to aspire to! Rabbits symbolize such traits as Creativity, Compassion, and Sensitivity. Rabbits are Serene and have Good Manners. They like to have FUN!
These are all things I want to aspire to in 2011, so why not sum them all up in ONE FABULOUS WORD???

One More to Sparkle Pond
I have not posted here since Zoe went to Sparkle Pond a couple of weeks ago.
You all know how much I LOVE Zoe (no past tense, here!). But sadness and grief are not why I haven't been writing.
The reason I haven't been writing is that our beloved Miss Emmie was also getting ready to follow her Bunny to Sparkle Pond.
Miss Emmie had made it fairly obvious over the last year that she was gearing up to go pretty soon. We weren't sure when or how it would go, but we knew it was coming.
Over the last couple of weeks, since Zoe's departure, and in the midst of feeling sad about all that had transpired and the suddenness with which it all happened, Miss Emmie gave us a clear sign that she was done on this earth as well-- she stopped eating. We knew what was coming, so we focused all our attentions on her for her remaining time here. On Tuesday, in the middle of the night, she went to be with Zoe and the others.
2010 has been a difficult year at the Lilypad. We have had four residents go off to Sparkle Pond. But in addition to being difficult, it's also been wonderful because there is always LOVE.
The GIANT LOVE that Rosie, Scottie, Emmie, and Zoe (as well as Jobie and Ernie, who were in Sparkle Pond from years past) brought to us? It is worth the sadness and sense of loss we feel no matter how hard it is to feel it.
The Love is Always Worth it.
Rest in peace, Miss Emmie. We love you.

Miss Zoe Lives Forever
On Tuesday, December 14th at around 8:30 PM, Miss Zoe, Bunny of my Heart and Soul, left this world to go to Sparkle Pond. We were holding Her and were with Her every second.
It's a little too hard to write much more than that right now, so I'm not going to try.
Just know this: Zoe will never be gone. Those of you who loved Her know that She will live forever. She will always be in charge of you. She will always be telling you what to do and what to think.
And, She will never stop teaching you about Love and the Power of Love. She was Love in a Rabbit Shape. Fuzzy Love. Velvet Love. Pure, Unconditional Love.

Rabbit Break
In past weeks, I've been writing a lot about Italy.
"Italy this. Italy that. WHAT ABOUT US???" Zoe and Blueberry yelled in unison to me last night.
And they have a point--exciting things are happening in the Lilypad.
For one thing, there are Rabbits living here. That's not at all new, of course, but it is always worth remembering and making a point of, because Rabbits living in your house is always both exciting and newsworthy. The Double Buns of the Rabbit Room agree that They are not getting nearly enough attention of late.
Running closely behind in the Complaint Department are Certain Cats, who also live in the Lilypad and who frequent the Rabbit Room. There has been a New Addition to the Lilypad who has gotten virtually NO AIR TIME ON THIS BLOG! He had a fairly lame movie a couple of weeks ago on an edition of Flip Friday, and then....NOTHING!
"What's with that?" Toby the Mini-now-not-so-mini Cat said to me about that particular situation. And, he does have a point. What IS with that?
Today, then, let's dedicate this post to the Forlorn and Obviously Long Forgotten Mammalian Members of the Lilypad, and then on Wednesday, we will pop back to Italy.

Thankfulness
I was going to write about Siena again today. And, that would be a fine thing to do.
But really, what I think I would rather do, on this day before Thanksgiving, is think about what I am thankful for and write a bit about that.
No matter how you feel about Thanksgiving, whether you think it's the best holiday of the year (as lots of people do) or the most barbaric (as lots of people do), the holiday can at least do this for you: it can be a mark in your year where you remind yourself to be thankful for...well....anything. Everything.
It's easy to get immersed in busy. Bogged down in negativity or other people's bad moods or anger. It's easy to give in to complaining and misery and then find company who will help you reinforce those things. It's easy to find bad seeds, plant them and nourish them. I'm not sure why it's so easy, but it is.
The way to fend that off, of course, is to acknowledge all the good things (that you may not even notice) in your life that you probably take for granted.
Here are two of those thing that you are taking for granted:
Do you see how acknowledging such Good Things could Infinitely Improve Your Life?
CAN YOU SEE THIS FACT?
I hope so. We all hope so.
Be thankful for LOVE, wherever you find it.
Be thankful for FRIENDS who are dear to you.
Be thankful for your FAMILY, whether it is the one you were born to, or the one you have made for yourself.
But most of all, Be Thankful for Rabbits. They are Life's True Angels.
It's really time that you learned that.

Flip Friday
Here in Erie, Pennsylvania, Winter is approaching.
Winter can get super cold here because of the Lake and stuff. We get a ton of snow and so winter coats are Important.
Even though Rabbits don't go outside, Winter Coats are Important to Them, too. And so, each year about this time, They Molt off their Summer/ Autumn Coat and they grow their new Winter Snow Coat.
I say all this to say this: Rabbits are a little Messy right now. They are busy molting. They have bits of hair here and there that just pop up and out.
When you're a Star, you want people to see you at Your Best.
Now, They know that you are not judgmental! Of course you aren't! Even so, They are Sensitive about Their looks.
AND, I say ALL THAT to say THIS: You are getting Old Rabbit Movies Again. Reruns. Oldies but Goodies.
So there you are. Your Rabbit Fix.
On Monday, back to Italy!!

We interrupt this broadcast of Stuff About Italy to bring you....
A RABBIT MOVIE!
Or Two.
Living in a house with Rabbits requires that you live by certain rules. These Rules assume the knowledge that though you may think that you are an OK human being, A Rabbit is Always Better, Always Cuter, Always More Important.
There are Lots of Rules to live by when you share your home with Rabbits. When you share your Blog with Rabbits, there is one Main Rule that you must live by:
1. Always show a Rabbit Movie if you are capable. Preferably on Friday.
And that is what we shall do. Now, The Girls and I haven't prepared any New Rabbit Movies, due to the the fact of my very own laziness (my Flip camera is still full of movies I made for the Chick in Italy, which I narrated for her to show her certain sights that I wanted her to see "with" me), but they insisted that I post Rabbit Movies of some kind.
So, we chose one that stars Both the Lilypad's Gorgeous Rabbits, and one In Which Miss Zoe Practices Her Italian. Do you remember these oldies but goodies?

Yeah, you read that right! What the!?!?%$&^%%@@#%%#?
People think, Oh, that Blueb, so sweet and quiet, but I have a MOUTH and right now, I am using it!
I share more in common with the Dark Haired Mother than just...hair color.
What is all the cussing about, you are asking?
It seems that Mama Number One -- the one that is super good about worshiping me -- has gone and left us all for this thing called, "Italy." Like, what the?!?!#^#$*#@%?
"ITALY!" WHAT IS THAT?!

I don't think so!!
Yeah, I'm a little peeved, to say the least. And I am trying to control my mouth for the sake of the children.

This will be the last Flip Friday in awhile, so Zoe and I put our heads together to come up with something special.
A BLACK AND WHITE MOVIE!!
OK, well, it may not be what you think.
This black and white movie is a black and white movie because it stars....Black and White Animals!!!
Specifically, it stars two of the Lilypad's famous Black and White Animals. You will see the ones, but one has Thumbs, and one has, well....Very Long Ears.
A special thanks goes out to the Chick, who filmed the footage for this particular film. It has a rough, documentary feel to it, which matches the rough and tumble subjects.

Pure Rabbit Entertainment
Since I am still not fully recovered from my hives and am a bit drugged out, Zoe and Blueberry suggested that we show you a couple of videos of Top Secret Bunny Activities that you may not know about.

What a Long, Strange Trip
For anyone out there who has never had hives, I say this to you: YOU ARE A FORTUNATE SOUL!
Seriously, you are.
Actually, though I have spent the last two weeks covered in unattractive welts and with my face swollen to the size of a basketball, I am extremely grateful that it is simply hives that I have. They are annoying, uncomfortable and many other things that I won't say, but they will go away. I will get better.
I called my sister the other day to tell her about my hives. I was feeling pretty discouraged and down and was probably more than a tad whiny. She proceeded to tell me a story about a boy who attends the school where she works who is so allergic to the sun that he has to wear head to toe protective clothing everywhere he goes. They had to put a special dimming film over the windows so that he could sit in his classroom for the whole school day.
Can you even imagine that?
It's given me a whole new appreciation for this organ that is my skin. It's given me a whole new appreciation for my body's ability to heal itself, slowly, but surely.
So, yes, it's annoying and uncomfortable, but it has reminded me simultaneously of the limits and the power of my my body and of how blessed I am to have both those limitations and that power.
You should, right now, take a moment to thank your skin for what it does. It is super busy doing jobs that you never thank it for. While you're at it, thank all your organs. Tell them you appreciate their contributions to your life.
Go ahead. Your organs are waiting.

She proceeded to tell me a story about a boy who attends the school where she works who is so allergic to the sun that he has to wear head to toe protective clothing everywhere he goes. They had to put a special dimming film over the windows so that he could sit in his classroom for the whole school day.
Can you even imagine that?
It's given me a whole new appreciation for this organ that is my skin. It's given me a whole new appreciation for my body's ability to heal itself, slowly, but surely.
So, yes, it's annoying and uncomfortable, but it has reminded me simultaneously of the limits and the power of my my body and of how blessed I am to have both those limitations and that power.
You should, right now, take a moment to thank your skin for what it does. It is super busy doing jobs that you never thank it for. While you're at it, thank all your organs. Tell them you appreciate their contributions to your life.
Go ahead. Your organs are waiting.

Flip Friday, The Hot Weather Edition
First let me say thank you to all of you who wrote in to defend Miss Zoe's Right to be in The Banner.
As you can see, your hard work paid off.
Zoe is pleased.
And, it is good.
So, it's Friday-- Flip Friday to be more exact. It was hot here in the Lilypad when I approached Zoe to star in a movie to thank Her fans for speaking up for Her. It was perhaps 9 million degrees Fahrenheit. Add the heat index, and you get somewhere in the trillions of degrees. That's hot for us Northern Folk.
(Of course, it's a bit cooler in the air conditioned Rabbit Room.)
In thanks, however, Miss Zoe mustered up the strength to make this video:

Cursed
Many of you would probably say, "Well, I saw THAT coming!"
You might even give me the dreaded, "I TOLD you so!"
You see, for the past many days, I have been suffering from hives. It is a terrible fate, yes, but I am thankful that it's not something worse.
That's not to say that I've not had enough of them. That's not to say that they've not made me a tad crazy.
I've been trying to figure out the cause of The Hives. They feel Epic and Biblical. They cover pretty much every area of my body (except my torso, knock on wood). Even my face has not escaped and is swelled to about 40 times it's normal and actual size.
OK, that might be an exaggeration, but whatever.
I am itchy, red, and bumpy and swollen. In short, I am Monster, akin, I think, to Mary Shelley's monster in Frankenstein. Well, except that Monster was Super Smart. Unfortunately, my brain has not gained any size or power. It is still just the same brain.
Which is perhaps why I didn't notice until today that my Hives and Swollen Faceness started about the same time that we excluded A Certain Someone from the new blog banner.
Just so we are all on the same page, here, what I am saying is that I believe I have been cursed by Someone who may look familiar to you:
Oh, don't let that Sweet Smile fool you. Don't be taken in by that Beautiful Eye. And the Dewlap? Let's not talk about the Dewlap. Or the Super Cute Arms.
This Rabbit Has Cursed Me!!! It may sound Crazy, but it's not.
Really, it's not.
Won't you help to stop my suffering? Will you help to extract me from my Benedryl Drug Haze?
It's up to you to convince the Blisschick to add a Zoe to the banner!

A Fresh Start
Ordinary Enchantment has a New Look!
(Before I go on, let me say this to you: PLEASE don't mention to Miss Zoe that She has been left out of the new banner. I know that She will notice eventually, but I'd rather try to get through just a couple more hours, so if you could just keep that on the down low....I would appreciate it.)
A couple of weeks ago, we announced here that a Year of Savoring was to begin. It's a year to try New Things. A year to work on new projects or resurrect old ones as long as they are FUN and I feel like working on them. A year to enjoy what life has to offer without worrying what it will get me or where I am going.
It is a Year to Enjoy Life.
The Chick thought that in order to mark that Year, The Rabbits and I needed a New Blog Banner to celebrate. A Banner that represented some of the things I like to do or like to have around. And so, she made us a new banner and changed the look of our blog a bit.
50% of the Rabbits in the Lilypad* agree that this Blog Banner is perfection! Let me tell you, it is hard to get 50% Rabbit Approval.
The other 50% of the Rabbits in the Lilypad have not exactly seen the New Banner....but...well, you know.
Wait! Are you suggesting that those Fresh Willow Balls** are some kind of a distraction or bribe!?!? Certainly not! Miss Zoe has simply been busy and has not looked a the Banner yet, that's all.
Ahem.
At any rate, besides the new banner, you'll notice the Cool Star Background and some tabs forming at the top-- so far just two: one called Lilypad! and one called Lilypad Residents. More tabs to come later, which will include one about Sparkle Pond and one about Art that is Made at the Lilypad. Keep your eyes peeled for those.
In the meantime, we will try to forget about the fact that there is a Gnome in the banner instead of... Miss Zoe. We will try to forget it. We will try to live life in spite of that fact. Or until "someone" changes the banner.
We will try to live if we are able. Are you able?
* Miss Zoe would tell you that this is a faulty percentage if you consider the fact that She is the Senior Rabbit and therefore gets 66% of any Rabbit Rom Vote, with Blueberry getting only 33% until She earns a bit more seniority.
** There are no actual Willow Balls. This mention of Willow Balls is purely fictional. Any resemblance to Actual Willow Balls is unintentional.
