Flip Friday

For those of you who are expecting a Miss Zoe video, today may very possibly be disappointing.

Miss Zoe is still a little mad at me for being away.

I was only away for 3 days and 2 nights. But, she is holding that against me. And I think it's going to last a couple more days.

You see this past Sunday, I went on a trip. It was a kayak trip down a 30+ mile section of the Allegheny River. A very serpentine section that runs from Franklin, PA to Parker, PA. Along the way, we camped on a couple of the River's wee islands.

It was very fun. At least, that's what I thought. There's nothing quite like a few days in the wilderness, right?

Well, Miss Zoe wasn't really supportive of the trip. She loves her cats and the Blisschick, but truthfully, they do not give her the undivided attention she pretty much demands.

You know how that goes.

So, today I said, "Zooooo-eeeee! Time to make the Flip Friday video!!" and she turned her back to me and threw over her fuzzy Rabbit shoulder, "Make your own #%&^* video. I'm not a circus animal."

O....K.....

So, I made my own #%&^* video. It's a montage of my trip.

I know. It's no Miss Zoe. But I think by next week, she may forgive me.

Zoe Has Her Say & Why is Blisschick So Whiney!?

Okay. Rabbit in charge.

My Primary Human has been gone for a couple of days and left it to me to post for Wednesday. As if I don't already Do Enough Around Here just by being cute and exuding so much Wisdomosity.

God!

Where would my Primary Human go, you ask?

Good question. I mean, who would leave this?


Or this!?


Furthermore, my Secondary Human, whom you know as Blisschick, is so, like, ANNOYING when my Primary Human is out of the house.

I mean, she barely sleeps so that makes her Cranky.

And she just does not Worship Me enough, as far as I'm concerned.

You see, Secondary Human -- I love her -- but she didn't expect me to Be Like I Am. She just thought I was going to be Some Wild Animal Who Lived In Her House!

What?!

So, to get Secondary Human out of my Hare (sorry for that pun) for just a Wee Bit, I sent her to the Beach. I made her take pictures so I would know she didn't just go to some Coffee Shop and get lost in the Internets somewhere, like she usually does.

You have to think of everything when you are The Rabbit.

So here is her evidence -- and it's date stamped so I know it's not a fraud.


Now, by the time you read this, my Primary Human will have been back for some hours.

And all I have to say is this:

A Few of My Favorite Things

That's right. Miss Zoe the Rabbit.

What's the problem? Did you think Rabbits couldn't type or something?

Remember that the Human is out of town kayaking or some such thing. On a river. Can you even imagine? Water makes my hair curl. I can't imagine doing something that would make me so curly.

Look-- Me, not curly.

Just remember, human-- anything you can do, Rabbits do better!

Except take pictures. We're too small to hold the camera. Also, there's that no thumb issue, and the claws that get in the way. But, really, things like that are precisely why we Rabbits have minions. To do the Menial Tasks.

Flip Friday

It seems that Friday's rolled around again.

It just keeps happening.

It's a good thing, too, because you know Miss Zoe, right? Well, she likes to give her fans a little something special every week. And, what better day than Friday?

What better day, indeed.

Poor Miss Zoe's on her own this weekend.

Well, not really on her own as much as just without me. She'll still be home with the Blisschick and her Cats and Half. She'll still have her iPod on shuffle and be lazing in the sun, moving her ears to listen to birdies and feeling the breeze through her soft and velvety fur.

OK, so really it's me who'll be poor, come to think of it.

Not poor so much, as I'll be camping and kayaking on the Allegheny River. But poor as in, you know-- Rabbitless. Catless. Blisschickyless.

Sigh.

Remembering these videos will help to ease my pain on those long nights under the stars, in the tent, trying to ward off bears or frogs or even, God forbid-- turtles.

That was a little turtle joke. I love turtles.

OK, so enough of the funny. On to the Features:

First, we have Miss Zoe trying to pick out which leaf of lettuce to eat. It can be quite difficult to find just the right piece you know.



And, second, we have a vision of Miss Zoe in the Summertime. This is pretty much what her afternoons look like.




On Monday, Miss Zoe will have to be responsible for posting our Blog. I hope she remembers. I hope she's not missing me so much that it slips her mind. Oh, that Poor, Lonely Bunny!!

(OK-- stop laughing! Can't you just humour me?)

Anyhow, I hope Miss Zoe doesn't offend anyone while I'm gone. Without me here to monitor her language, there's no telling what she might say. Just look out's all I'm sayin'.

Erie Redux

Today is one of those days.

You know. Those days.

I guess I am a little sleepy. We had a busy weekend.

Well, not a busy weekend, totally, but a different kind of weekend than we usually have.

Different is good. But Different, not being the Same, is, well... Different.

We had a house guest this past weekend, which is something I mentioned on Monday. Lisa of Nerdy Renegade News was here. And having her here was a whole lot of fun.

"Yes," said Miss Zoe. "She appreciated me appropriately."

One of the best parts of having Lisa here for the weekend, besides just having her company, was the opportunity to show someone new around this town that we love. We did things that you might do as a tourist instead of as people who live here. Things we take for granted were sort of new again.

We went to Presque Isle.

We went to the Tom Ridge Environmental Center.

We went to Romolos. Beautiful and delicious!

We visited the LEAF Arboretum.

We went to the Brewerie for a locally brewed Apparition Ale and to hear the most awesome local band EVER-- the Heliotropes.

We completely avoided the Roar on the Shore, not being motorcycle people. But, it was really cool to know that people were getting together to do something they love. Even if it is really loud and potentially smelly.

It's nice to see things anew. Because, sometimes, it's easy to get complacent about the place where you live.

Having company is a way to rediscover and re-appreciate.

And now you'll have to excuse me while I rediscover and re-appreciate a certain demanding bunny.

Oh, and thanks, Lisa, for breaking us out of our routine for a few days. It was a lovely change of pace.

3 Things I Learned This Weekend

Happy Monday!

Actually, I may have learned more than 3 things this weekend. In fact, now that I've written that title, I can probably think of at least 4 things I learned, but let's stick with 3, as that seems enough to cover at one time. Here they are (in no particular order):

1. I learned how to wipe down a Dirty Lamb. (I know-- that doesn't sound great, does it? But it's true.)

Miss Zoe and I have spoken of Miss Emmie the Cat (pictured below, squinting in a sunspot) many times here on our blog. What we haven't talked much about is the fact that she's CRAZY.

No, seriously. She is crazy.

She doesn't groom herself (who knows why-- Zoe thought cats mostly came knowing how to do such things to extremes-- it's why she allows cats in her house), and besides that, she's a tail biter, which means she's often covered in blood. We LOVE this cat!! But, she can be... challenging, especially when you are having company (see #3). Due to the non-grooming situation, we have Miss Emmie shaved, and because we have her shaved, we affectionately call her "The Lamb."

Are you keeping up?

Due to the problem of non-grooming and frequent bloodiness, we decided to order some wipes
to help keep her cleaner. We affectionately call them "The Lamb Wipes."

So, said Lamb Wipes came in the magic, brown UPS truck a couple of days ago, and on them were these instructions:

O......kay.....

First thing learned? Besides knowing how to open and close a lid, one must wipe entire pet.

2. I worked on Sunday at the Ol' Public Library. I picked up this tract in the copy room and thought I should pass along this information:

Whew! I still have a couple of years!

Second thing learned? The End is Imminent.

3. We had a house guest here at the Lilypad this weekend!!! We NEVER have house guests!! Lisa of Nerdy Renegade News came to meet us and the cats and Miss Zoe and stayed for a few days. We had GREAT FUN!!

Third thing learned? Having someone whom you don't know (other than through online contact) come to your house and hang out is not as freaky as we thought it would be!! We had such a wonderful time, and it's like we knew Lisa already.

Miss Zoe is stoked for the weekend!

How about you?

Actually, Miss Zoe doesn't care much what day it is. She is just always happy and excited.

Really, it's a nice way to be.

One reason she is always excited is that she is not required to work in a public library where people sometimes feel compelled to wear just their swimsuit or perhaps feel like it's a good idea to bring their cans of beer into the free computer lab.

Miss Zoe prefers to deal solely with her cats. She can decide when they come and go. And, they never wear a swimsuit or bring beer.

Another reason that she's always so very excited is that she is always eating. Like, always. If you have a Rabbit, or even if you just observe Wild Yard Rabbits, you know that they are always munching on something.

In this week's Flip Friday Video, we see this very action: Miss Zoe enjoying some hay. It may not sound enthralling, but I defy you to stop watching!
